Nothing says “Christmas” like arguing over which movie to watch.
After all the gifts are unwrapped, the big dinners are eaten, and the eggnog is drunk, you may need to collapse on the couch. Why not enjoy that post-gift frenzy and food coma with a few heart-warming fantasy movies? Here are my top picks of films that have what I consider fantasy elements:

Stranger than Fiction. Boring IRS auditor (Will Ferrell) starts hearing a voice in his head–specially, an author narrating his life who tells him he’s about to die. Is his life real? Is it even his? And what changes will he make if he’s about to be ”edited out?” What seems like a downer is actually a very funny and [SPOILER ALERT] happy-ending type fantasy movie.
Martian Child. Widower and sci-fi writer (Cusack) attempts to adopt boy–who thinks he’s from Mars. A great fantasy movie for the adoptive parent—or any parent—and sci-fi lover. Warning: another fine, 3-hanky film.

It’s a Wonderful Life. Okay, we all pretty much know how this one goes. Angel comes down to earth and shows guy what things would’ve been like if he’d never been born. And while not technically a fantasy movie, doesn’t it sorta make you believe in magic? Just a little?
What are your top heartwarming fantasy movies? Tell me in the comments!
