The Strange Story of Mrs. Stuffed
Mrs. Stuffed’s office was covered in official-looking documents. Blood-red, wax seals adorned the faded pieces of parchment. At times, there were so many seals they made the certificates droop. One of them proclaimed “Emma Stuffed, XYZ.”
“If you ask me, it’s the Xeroxed Yellowing Zoologist certificate that’s the doozy to keep,” Mrs. Stuffed sighed. “Every nine months I must ride backwards on a running donkey twenty-six times in a circle. The last time I nearly fell off and got killed!”
Stanley’s hand stopped with a cookie halfway to his mouth.
“You’ve got to be kidding,” he said, with a mouthful of cookie.
Mrs. Stuffed shook her head. “I’m afraid not, she replied. “And the truth is, young man, that you don’t know the half of it!”

Why must poor Mrs. Stuffed endure such a goofy ritual? Could it have a more sinister purpose that only Stanley can discover?
